As an original co-founder of the team, Marcus has truly showed his devotion and leadership skill over the past year. From working tireless hours to ensure the proper and complete construction of the car, to planning team building events to create a better team environment, Marcus has truly been an essential member and leader. In addition to team activities, Marcus has exceptional interest in automotive technology and innovation as seen through his YouTube Channel and too often work on his personal car, he knows his way around a car better than many.
From designing and building award winning carbon fiber bridges to navigating the deserts of California by ATV, Rachel is truly an engineer at heart. During the SAMPE (Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering) competition in 2016, her team came in fourth place nationally, highlighting her determination and standards of quality. Rachel joined the Baja team during its inaugural team and played a pivotal role in the manufacturing of the vehicle. This year, she will be leading our engineering team from design to manufacturing.
After his position as Drivetrain Lead and Business Director, William has had a chance to see the both the engineering and administrative sides of the team. As a Head Teaching Assistant at NYU and Team Captain of the VIP Smart Cities, he has experience with team development and management allowing for greater efficiency during the design phase and greater organization across the team overall. In addition, his work on BMW and Jeep vehicles as the result of his off-road adventures, leaves him effective both behind a desk or behind the wheel.
